1. INTRODUCTION:
Health care service is in prime requirement of our country where the Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses and Paramedics plays the vital role. The Pharmacist requirement in the country is increasing day by day and at the same time bringing out of quality pharmacist with good knowledge and expiring is vital requirement of the time to meet the demand and supply. Pharmacists comprise the third largest healthcare professionals in the world and pharmacy profession has been evolving steadily over the last decade in India. Today, pharmacists have expanded their role from dispensing to pharmaceutical care by maximizing the benefits of medications and their safety. The Pharmacist are absorbed in industry in Research and Development, production, formulation, packaging, clinical trials etc., required in hospitals for dispensing and managing drug store, marketing of pharmaceutical products, Teaching and Research. In hospital as well as community pharmacy settings, counselling patients is one of the key roles that pharmacists. A study conducted in the community pharmacy setup in urban area of North India (New Delhi) showed that 71% patients got benefit from community pharmacists. Developed nations have clearly established the role of community pharmacists by providing them with knowledge and techniques to counsel patients, provide information about medicines and disease conditions or advice about life style modifications, drug administration, dosage, side effects, storage of drugs, and drug and drug-food interactions. Since the last decade, pharmacy profession in India is evolving due to industrialization and increase in patient needs, leading to an increase in the demand of pharmacists. According to the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), there are 6, 57,230 registered pharmacists practicing since January 2012. It has become an urgent need of the country and especially in Assam to attract the youth to enroll in Pharmacy education programme to produce efficient Pharmacists to meet the demand and fill the shortage in the health care industry.
Keeping this in mind. “Help Aid : A Society for the Distress People” took the opportunity to involve to fulfill the need to quality pharmacist by introducing “Dispur Pharmaceutical Institute” in Guwahati offering Diploma in Pharmacy course from the academic year 2021-22.
2. SUMMERY OF THE PROPOSED INSTITUTION:
Dispur Pharmaceutical Institute will be the new add-on of Help Aid from the session 2021. The society is presently running DISPUR NURSING INSTITUTE and well named for quality education in NE region. With maintaining the society motto the college will be having the vision to produce quality professionals to meet the demand of pharmacist in this region.

3.4. Source of funding:
The financial requirements will be taken care of by the society. An amount of Rs. 90L, 94L, 76L for 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year respectively will be made available by society and from revenue collected from the students which shall be utilized as and when required.

4.5. Hostel Accommodation:
The College has separate building for Hostel Building in the vicinity of the College Campus. Hostel facilities shall be provided on request basis.

As per curriculum of the courses, the Trust shall make necessary arrangements for hospital training in duly approved Hospitals in due course of time.
